      It is a hypochlorite which means it is bleach! It turns pink because some of the dyes in the clothes react with the bleach!

      Bleach, or chloros, is a solution of NaClO, which is an oxidizing agent. It removes electrons from the food coloring molecules to a state in which they don’t emit red light any more!
