      No, the brain as a whole does not get heavier or bigger (at least that is what we know at the moment!) as we learn things but what happens is certain areas of the brain may get bigger. For example, if you have someone who really likes languages and can speak a lot of languages then their language centre might be bigger than someone who can only speak one language. Another example is a study that was done in London on Taxi drivers. They looked at the hippocampus (which is the part of the brain that deals with remembering things) and found that this area was bigger in London taxi drivers because of all the roads and places that they needed to remember!
